Our Commitment
Buildrok is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We design and build with accessibility in mind, test our work against the standard with automated and manual checks, and treat barriers reported by visitors as bugs to fix.
Conformance Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our target standard. WCAG 2.1 AA is the benchmark referenced by most major accessibility laws and regulations and covers visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and speech disabilities.
This statement describes our current conformance posture. Areas of the site may still fall short of the standard while we work through remediation. We list known gaps below and update this page as fixes ship.
What We Do to Support Accessibility
Our ongoing work toward WCAG 2.1 AA includes:
- Semantic structure. Pages use real landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer) and a single h1 with no skipped heading levels, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- Keyboard support. All interactive elements are reachable and operable from the keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link appears on focus at the top of every page.
- Visible focus. Every interactive element shows a visible focus indicator when reached via keyboard.
- Labeled controls. Form fields use real labels (not placeholders), required fields are programmatically marked, and errors are tied to their fields.
- Meaningful images. Images carry descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so assistive tech can skip them.
- Reduced motion. Animated effects respect the operating system's "reduce motion" preference.
- Resizable text. Content reflows at 200% browser zoom without loss of information or function.
- Ongoing audit. We run an automated accessibility lint on every deploy (a deploy cannot ship if it fails), a measured color-contrast scan with axe-core across every template and color preset, and periodic manual keyboard-only reviews.
Scope
This statement covers buildrok.com: the marketing site, the account area, and the website editor. Websites our customers build and publish with Buildrok are controlled by their owners, who choose their own content, images, and colors. The templates those sites are built from are developed and tested to the same standard described here, but the owner of a published site is responsible for the content they add to it.
Known Limitations
Areas we know may fall short of the standard today:
- Third-party embeds. Payment pages (Stripe), booking widgets, and embedded maps and videos are provided by third parties, and we cannot fully control their accessibility. Where an embed causes a barrier, contact us and we will help you complete the task another way.
- The website editor on small screens. The visual editor is a complex interactive surface, and some editing controls are harder to operate with assistive technology than the rest of the site. Improving this is active work.
- User-provided images. Where a customer has not written alternative text for their own photos, their published site may carry images without meaningful descriptions.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, or if you need content in a different format, please tell us. Include the page URL, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and what went wrong.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 2 business days and to give a substantive response and remediation plan in writing. We treat reported barriers as bugs and prioritize them alongside other site work.

Review Cadence
We review this statement at least annually, and after any significant change to the site that could affect accessibility.
