Common questions about Buildrok.
Pricing, the Lead Inbox, trade-specific lead forms, hosting, custom domains, cancellation. If your question isn't answered below, contact our Austin support team.
What do you need from me to build my site?
Six things, all collected before you pay anything: your business name, your trade, the services you offer, the areas you cover, your phone number and your hours. You answer them in about three minutes, see your site built from them on screen, and only then are you asked for the $99 deposit. Because we already have everything we need, the 2 business days clock starts the moment you pay. Photos, a logo and style notes are optional, added any time after checkout, and never hold up the build.
What if I don't like the site you build?
You look at it before anything goes live and before the $400 balance is charged. Tell us what to change (2 rounds of changes are included), or walk away and the $99 comes back in full, no reason needed. After it goes live you have 30 days to change your mind for a full refund of the whole $499, and you keep the domain.
How many changes can I ask for?
2 rounds of changes before it goes live, where a round is one list of changes you send us and we do. Small fixes on our side never count. After it goes live you can edit anything yourself in the live editor at no cost, and on the $79/month managed plan we keep making content changes for you too: new photos, prices, services, hours, usually within 2 business days. A redesign or a whole new page type we price first.
Can I edit the site myself afterwards?
Yes, and that is the point. Done For You is not a locked-down managed service. When we hand it over you get the same live click-to-edit editor, the same Lead Inbox and the same dashboard every Buildrok customer has. Change a price yourself at 10pm, or ask us to do it. Both are included.
What happens after the 2 business days?
You get an email with a link to your finished site on a private address. Look at it, ask for changes if you want them, and when you are happy click Approve And Go Live. That charges the remaining $400, registers your web address, puts the site live, starts your 30 days money-back window, and sets your first $79/month payment for 30 days after go-live. Nothing goes live until you click it.
I started building it myself. Can I switch to Done For You?
Yes, at any time, from the editor or your dashboard. We pick up where you left off: the order is placed on the draft you already have, and everything you typed or uploaded is carried into the build so you are not asked twice. If you are already on a paid plan the setup fee is the same $499 and your monthly moves to $79/month when you approve, prorated for the month you are in.
Who owns the domain?
You do. It is registered in your name, with you as the legal owner, whichever way you came in. On Done For You, registration and the first year are included for a standard .com, .net, .org, .co, .us, and the renewal is covered by the managed plan from year two. If you ever leave, or take a refund, the domain goes with you.
What if the domain name I want is taken?
We check it when you tell us the name, and again at the moment of approval, because names get taken. If yours is gone we tell you straight away and help you pick another; your site is live on its Buildrok address in the meantime, so you are never stuck. If the name you want is a premium or aftermarket listing it is not included: we tell you the price and you either pay the difference or choose another name.
Can I preview a site without signing up or paying?
Yes. Pick your trade, choose a design that fits, enter your business details, and get a live preview link instantly. No account or credit card required to start.
How many designs are there?
Trade-built templates for every service trade we cover, with multiple distinct designs per trade. The covered trades include plumbers, electricians, HVAC, landscapers, contractors, food trucks, movers, barbers, mobile detailers, cleaners and more. The styles aren't color swaps; each one has its own typography, layout, imagery and section variants. Once you're inside the editor you can switch between every available design for your trade with one click. Your content moves with you.
Does Buildrok include a CRM or lead manager?
Yes. Every paid plan includes the Buildrok Lead Inbox: a built-in lead manager with a five-stage pipeline (New, Contacted, Quoted, Booked, Lost), search, multi-site filtering, and one-click CSV export. It is a focused lead manager rather than a full CRM. If you already use HubSpot, Pipedrive, or a Google Sheet, you can export your leads to CSV at any time.
How do the trade-specific lead forms work?
Every Buildrok template ships with a lead form designed for the way that trade actually books jobs. Plumber forms include an urgency selector. Electrician forms ask for property type. Mover forms collect move date, home size, origin, and destination. Roofer, contractor, and painter forms capture project type, scope, and timeline. The result: leads that land in your inbox are pre-qualified, not random Name and Email submissions.
What's the difference between Single Page and Multi Page?
Single Page puts everything on one scrollable page. Fast to launch and perfect for most local businesses ($29/mo, or $23/mo billed annually). Multi Page gives you separate Home, Services, and Contact pages with more content depth and better SEO potential ($49/mo, or $39/mo billed annually). Both plans include the Lead Inbox, trade-specific lead form, photo gallery, map embed, hosting, and SSL.
Can I save by paying annually?
Yes. Choosing annual billing saves 20% versus monthly. Single Page is $276/yr ($23/mo effective) and Multi Page is $468/yr ($39/mo effective). You can switch between monthly and annual from your dashboard.
What's included in each plan?
Every paid plan includes hosting, the security padlock, the Lead Inbox, the quote form built for your trade, a photo gallery, a map of your service area, the details Google reads, and a call button that stays on screen on phones. The only optional add-on is the Extra Pages Pack: a flat $20/mo for up to 5 extra custom pages (Multi Page plan only).
Is hosting included? Can I use my own domain?
Hosting and the security padlock are included on every paid plan. You can connect a web address you already own (from GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, or anywhere else) for free. New domains purchased through Buildrok are a separate one-time fee at checkout (typically $10 to $20 per year), not included in the Do It Yourself monthly subscription. On Done For You, registration and the first year are included (a standard .com, .net, .org, .co, .us; premium names excluded) and the renewal is covered by the $79/month managed plan from year two.
Can I change my colors, content, and branding later?
Yes, any time. Pick from curated theme presets or set your own hex colors for accent, background, and section tones. Business content (name, services, areas, photos) is editable from the dashboard whenever you need it.
How do I cancel?
Cancel any time from your dashboard, no lock-in, no cancellation fees. You keep access until the end of your current billing period. A domain you bought separately on a Do It Yourself plan is yours and stays registered in your name, so that registration is not refunded. On Done For You the domain is included, the 30 day guarantee covers the whole setup fee, and you keep the domain.
Do I own my website and content?
Yes. Your content, photos, and copy are yours, and any domain you buy is registered in your name. You can export your leads to CSV at any time. If you cancel, your site stops serving on your custom domain, but your content stays in your account and goes straight back live if you resubscribe.
I'm not very technical. Can I really do this myself?
Yes, that is the whole point. You pick your trade, your business details drop into a design built for that trade, and you edit any text or photo by clicking it directly on the page. There is no code, no plugins, and no hosting to set up. Most owners have a site they are happy with in well under an hour, and you can see the whole thing free before you pay anything.
Why pay for this instead of a free Google profile or a cheap site builder?
A Google Business Profile helps you show up, but it is not a website you control. A generic cheap builder still leaves you designing a trades site from a blank page and wiring up a lead form yourself. Buildrok gives you a site built around how your trade books work, a lead form that qualifies callers, a Lead Inbox to manage them, and local SEO, all ready on day one.
Who is Buildrok built for?
Owner-operators of local service businesses in the United States. Plumbers, electricians, HVAC, cleaners, landscapers, contractors, movers, painters, roofers, barbers, pest control, mobile detailers, food trucks, and similar trades. Each trade has its own template tuned for the way that business gets booked.
How fast can I go from zero to a live preview?
Most owners go from picking a template to a fully rendered preview in under 20 minutes. You enter your business name, services, phone, and service areas, and the template fills in. No design work, no wireframes, no drag-and-drop tutorial.
What happens if I'm not happy with the preview?
Don't pay anything. The preview is free, and you can build unlimited drafts across multiple templates before you commit. Switch templates, change colors, edit copy, and only enter a card when the site is one you're proud to publish.
Do I need any design or coding skills?
No. The templates ship as finished sites, and the editor is point-and-click. If you can fill out a form, you can build a Buildrok site.
Is Buildrok better than building a site myself with Wix or Squarespace?
For local service trades, yes. Wix and Squarespace are general-purpose: a plumber starting from scratch has to figure out which sections to include, write the copy, find the right form plugin, and configure SEO. Buildrok ships those decisions already made for your trade. If you sell to a general audience or run an online store, Wix or Squarespace may be a better fit.
What's the catch on the free preview?
There isn't one. The preview is a real, live, mobile-ready website with your business name and details. We let you see exactly what you'd be paying for before you pay. The only thing the preview can't do is publish to a custom domain or capture leads, that requires a paid plan.
Your competitors already have a website. Do you?
Every day without a website is a job going to the guy down the road. Pick your trade, pick a design that fits, and have your site live in minutes. Preview every design free before you pay a cent.
