Short version. If you buy a Done For You website and you do not want it, tell us within 30 days of your site going live and we give you $499 back. You do not have to explain why. You keep your domain.
1. What is covered
The Done For You setup fee, in full. That is the one off amount you pay us to build your website for you.
Nothing is held back. There is no restocking fee, no admin fee, and no partial refund.
You pay it in two parts, and the guarantee covers both
You pay $99 when you order, and the remaining $400 only when you have seen your site and approved it. Once it is live, the 30 day guarantee covers everything you have paid, both parts. The deposit is not carved out.
We say that plainly because a guarantee with an exception in it is not really a guarantee.
Before your site goes live
The deposit is refundable too, and there is no catch in it:
- Any time before you approve the site, the $99 is fully refundable. Whether we have built the preview yet or not, whether you changed your mind or we were late, ask and you get it back. No reason needed.
- You have not paid the $400 at that point, and you never will unless you approve. So until you say yes, nothing you have paid is at risk.
The only thing we keep if you walk away is the preview itself: it lives on a private, unindexed address and does not export. The work is ours; the money is yours.
2. How long you have
30 days from the day your site goes live. Not from the day you paid, and not from the day you placed the order.
We count from go live because that is the first day you have the thing you bought. If we take a week to build your site, that week is ours, not yours.
If your site has not gone live yet, you can still ask for your money back at any time. You have paid and you have not received anything, so the clock has not started.
3. What "unconditional" means
It means what it says:
- You do not need a reason. We will ask if you want to tell us, and you can ignore the box.
- There are no conditions to meet first.
- We will not ask you to sit through a call before we process it.
- It does not matter how much you used the site, or whether you got leads from it.
4. What happens to your domain
You keep it. The domain is registered in your name, with you as the legal owner (the registrant), and a refund does not change that. You do not have to give it back and we do not take it.
Two practical things to know:
- You can point it anywhere, immediately. If you want it to serve a site built somewhere else, change the nameservers and it will. There is nothing stopping you and no waiting period for this.
- Moving it to a different registrar takes 60 days from when it was first registered. That is an ICANN rule that applies to every domain everywhere, not something we impose, and we cannot waive it. You can see the exact date, and get your transfer authorization code, from your dashboard whenever you want it.
We turn off automatic renewal when you take a refund, so we never charge you for a second year. That does mean renewing it becomes your job. We will email you before it expires and tell you the date.
5. What happens to your website
We take it offline. We keep your content and your leads for 30 days after that, so you can change your mind or export anything you need. After 30 days it is deleted and we cannot get it back.
Export first if there is anything you want. Your leads are the usual thing people want.
6. The monthly fee
You will not have paid one, and that is by design.
Your monthly billing does not start until after the guarantee window has closed. So when you ask for a refund inside the window, there is no monthly payment to give back, because you have not made one yet.
To be completely clear about the arithmetic: if you approve your site and then claim inside the 30 days, you get $499 back, which is the $99 deposit and the $400 balance together.
7. How to claim
One button in your dashboard, under your site's settings. That is the whole process.
If you would rather email, write to support@buildrok.com from the address on your account and say you want your money back. You do not need to say more than that.
The refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. Stripe and your bank usually take 5 to 10 business days to put it back on your statement. We cannot make that faster and we cannot pay you any other way.
8. What is not covered
This is the part people get annoyed about, so it is here in plain sight rather than in a footnote.
- The monthly subscription after the guarantee window. You can cancel at any time and your site stays up until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part of a month. See our Refunds and Cancellation Policy for how monthly billing works.
- Registrar fees for a domain. On Done For You the domain's first year is included in your $499, so there is nothing separate to refund; the whole $499 comes back and the domain stays yours. If you chose a premium name and paid the difference, that part went to the registrar and cannot be reversed, because the domain is yours and already paid for.
- Do It Yourself plans. There is no setup fee on a Do It Yourself plan, so there is nothing for this guarantee to refund. Cancel any time instead.
9. If we get it wrong
If you asked for a refund and something has gone wrong with it, email support@buildrok.com and we will sort it out. If you would rather write to us:
Buildrok LLC, 5900 Balcones Drive, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731, United States
10. How this fits with our other policies
This policy covers the Done For You setup fee only. Our Refunds and Cancellation Policy covers monthly plans and domains, and our Terms of Service govern everything else. Where this policy is more generous than those, this one wins.
