Buildrok sites are built to show up in local searches without you configuring anything technical. This guide covers what's automatic, what you can tune, and the two features that move the needle most for local rankings: Google reviews and promoted area pages.
What's Built In Automatically
- Structured data. Every published site emits local business markup so Google understands who you are, where you work, and what you do.
- A sitemap. Generated automatically for your published pages, ready for Google Search Console.
- Fast, mobile-first pages. Page speed and mobile usability are ranking factors, and the templates are built for both.
- Local-intent page structure. Service lists, service area sections, and tap-to-call are part of every template, not add-ons you assemble.
The SEO Tab In The Editor
Open the sidebar's SEO tab in the editor to control how your site appears in search results and when it's shared:
- Page title and description. The text Google shows in results. Buildrok pre-fills sensible defaults from your business details; edit them to match how customers actually search.
- Social share card. Buildrok auto-generates the preview image shown when your site is shared on social or in messages. Upload your own if you'd rather use a photo or logo.
More Pages, More Ways To Be Found
On the Multi Page plan your site gets dedicated Services and Contact pages alongside the home page. Separate pages give Google more distinct things to rank: a dedicated services page can rank for "drain cleaning [your city]" while your home page ranks for your business name.
Google Reviews On Your Site
Reviews are the strongest trust signal a local business has, and your site can pull them straight from your Google Business Profile:
- In the editor, open the sidebar's Content tab and toggle on Google Reviews (included on every plan).
- Search for your business by name and pick it from the results to connect your profile.
- Your 4-star and 5-star reviews appear on the site as cards, in the design of your choice.
Picked up new reviews since? Hit Re-sync Reviews in the same panel to pull in the latest.
Promoted Area Pages
Your service areas section lists every city and suburb you cover. Promoting an area upgrades it from a line in a list to a dedicated page on your site (at /areas/your-city), which gives Google a focused page to rank for searches in that specific place.
- In the live preview, find your service areas and click Promote on the area you want.
- That area gets its own page, pre-built from your business details and editable like any other page.
Pricing for this is simple: your first promoted area page is free, and it's best spent on your primary city. Promoting more areas requires the Local SEO Pro add-on at $19/month, which you can toggle on from the editor sidebar.
The Compounding Bits
Two things outside the editor make everything above work harder:
- A custom domain. Rankings build on your domain over time, and yourbusiness.com is the address that's yours for good. See Connecting Your Domain.
- A complete Google Business Profile. Keep your hours, photos, and reviews fresh there; your site and profile reinforce each other in local results.
Common Questions
How many promoted area pages do I get?
One promoted area page is always free, intended for your primary city. The Local SEO Pro add-on ($19/month) unlocks additional promoted area pages beyond the free one.
Which Google reviews show on my site?
Once you connect your Google Business Profile, your site shows your 4-star and 5-star reviews as cards. Use the Re-sync Reviews button in the editor whenever you've picked up new ones.
Do I need to submit a sitemap to Google?
Your published site generates its own sitemap and structured data automatically. You can submit the sitemap in Google Search Console to speed up discovery, but the file itself needs no setup.
How long until I show up in search results?
Google typically takes days to weeks to index a new site, and local rankings build over months. A custom domain, real reviews, and promoted area pages for the cities you serve all compound over time.
